About Addiction

GHB is addictive, and withdrawals are LIFE THREATENING! For so long the info was that this isn't an addictive drug and no big deal. Now it is readily apparent that it is highly addictive and, worse yet, getting off of it is tougher than many other drugs. Addicts are looking at two weeks in intensive care to shake it. Going into a regular drug withdrawal program without a doctor specifically experienced in GHB is dangerous. I recently interviewed a man who takes 20-30 capfuls per day just to MAINTAIN. He gets no buzz from that dosage. But anything less sends him into the violent shakes and horrible withdrawal pains associated with this drug.

We are developing a comprehensive treatment resource on this site. This is a new feature of the site, and we hope it will prove to be life saving. If your treatment facility can detox a GHB case, we will list you here for FREE for the time being.

News: Just wanted all to know that at least three or four doctors have initiated research grant requests and will be doing intense research on GHB addition-related topics.  As it progresses, we'll keep you posted on any info that comes to light and may be asking for participants in surveys or medical follow up.  This is really a step forward, getting significant attention drawn to what is happening in this arena.  Your input and participation can result in help and answers for yourself as well as others.

Word is getting out to more and more doctors each week, meaning that others coming forward for help will be more likely to find help with less responses of ---  Duh, GHB, what's that?  Or Duh,

We describe a case of withdrawal from the gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) precursors gamma butyrolactone and 1,4-butanediol. Symptoms included visual hallucinations, tachycardia, tremor, nystagmus, and diaphoresis. Administration of benzodiazepines and phenobarbital successfully treated the withdrawal symptoms. As predicted from the metabolism of gamma butyrolactone and 1,4-butanediol to GHB, the symptoms were nearly identical to those reported from GHB withdrawal. Because GHB is now illegal in the United States, individuals have begun abusing the legal and easier to acquire GHB precursors. More frequent cases of both abuse and withdrawal from these GHB precursors can be expected. This is an abstract from MedLine
