City, State: Denver, NC Comments: This is very hard for me to talk about. But I will in the hopes that it may help others. My 15 year old daughter was drugged with ghb after someone at an after prom party slipped it in her drink. I had never heard of GHB until this happened. This happened April of this year. I wanted her first date and prom to be one she would never forget and believe me none of us will forget it. She came home about 1:30 am and I heard her getting out of her dates car, he brought her to door and said I think she is really tired. But I could tell it was more than just tired because of how acted and talked. I thought she was drunk because her wasn't really slurred it just took awhile to get her words together. She also said her arms felt like they were tingling and numb. She started trying to throw up, so I told her to stand up and so I could unzip her dress before she messed it up. I was going to get out of her dress get her to bathroom to throw up, put her to sleep it off and then let have it the next day so she could understand what I saying. To try and shorten this she never made it to her bedroom she collapse in her brothers arms and I had to help him lay on the floor. We could not get her to respond to anything we did. Her were open and dilated so much that youngest brother ask me why her blue eyes were black even with all the lights on. Luckily our neighbors are on the vol. rescue squad so I sent her brother to get them. By the time they got here she was have convulsions. They did chest rubs and no response what so ever. To watch your child turn ashy gray color and stop breathing there is no way described it. We were terrified that we had lost her. We called 911 and she was transported the hospital. They did drug and alcohol test which were all negative. That is when the doctor told us she had to symptoms GHB poisoning and told us if we hadn't brought had her brought in she would have died. To hear those words was horrifying. Please do not ever leave your drinks unattended for even a second ,better yet take your own drinks and leave in your vehicle. She could have died from someone else's stupidity.
Name: Anon Comments: I was raped in November of 2000 after having GHB slipped into my drink. I felt like my head was going to explode with the rush of energy & adrenaline I felt. I kept passing out & I was extremely confused because I had no idea what was happening to me. When I finally woke up in the morning I found vomit in my tub & I didn't remember ANYTHING. I had no idea how I had gotten to the bathroom & I was in a different place when I woke up then when I first passed out. All I knew was that I was drugged. I went to the hospital later that day to get a rape test done & decided to prosecute. The guy confessed to drugging me & raping me. After hearing about GHB I realize that I could have died that night. He obviously put a lot into my drink because when I was looking at the symptoms of different doses most of mine were of a high dose. 3 girls had died about a month after this happened to me, so I realize every day that I am lucky to be alive. And my heart goes out to the families of those who weren't so lucky.

City, State: Birmingham AL Comments: 6/3/2002 This past week end my best friend of 18 year O.D.'d on liquid G. He was 23 years old and had just been married in Sept.2001. This has been the toughest thing I have ever faced in my life. I knew he had taken it that night but never dreamed that the next day he would be gone. Facing his mother, who had a hand in raising me, was so difficult. Tonight I'm going to see his wife, whom I have also known for about 15 years. I don't know what to say to her. If anyone reads this, Please realize the EXTREME consequences of your actions. My friend never dreamed this would happen. He thought he was going to have a little fun, but now he is gone.
