Hi. I'm a Danish girl, and I just heard about the GHB through The Ricki Lake show. I'm very surprised, that the Danish people have been warned about the GHB, so I'm very pleased that you have made it possible for me to read about it. Thank you very much. Now I can protect myself

I just lost my brother last week from GHB. We had no idea he was using it and found out too late that he got turned on to it at the gym.

Mark was into fitness and was a decent 51 year old family man. If not for the ease of purchasing this drug, he would never have started it, but after

4 years of use he found he couldn't stop. He tried rehab but to no avail.

He died alone on the kitchen floor and laid there for days until someone checked up on him.

It was a complete shock to all of us in the family and if there is any legal action we can take I would like to know. We've gone through his computer to see where he got it from but don't have his password.

He left two sons and a wife, mother and 7 siblings who are in deep grief over his death.

Mark was one of the greatest people on earth as he would help anyone in need, but there was no one there for him.

I never even heard of this drug and can't believe the ease of getting it with it being so lethal. I would have preferred he used alcohol or heroin so at least he would still be alive to rehab.

He tried constantly to stop per his wife but it proved to be too much.

Unfortunately, everyone was out of town that weekend and had no one to help him.

I loved my brother with all my heart and can't imagine life without him. We are all so deep in grief that I can't think straight.

Please, if you know someone who is using it, have them read these comments or do an intervention. I wish we had the chance to do that.

Thank you for letting me get this out.

I have to say I have learned a lot from this website. My boyfriend and I got into an argument last Monday (April 22, 2002) and we hung up the phone in anger. Well I hadn't heard from him and I didn't really realize because I have been so busy with school, I am a student at Rutgers University. Well I had just taken a final yesterday (May 1, 2002), and received a call from his sister saying that he was in the hospital since Sat. (April 27, 2002) in ICU from the GHB. I do not do drugs so I didn't really know about the stuff.

I've worked at a gym now for 5 years and I have heard about it from there but I didn't know how harmful it really was. I knew he was taking it and that was why we constantly fought. He constantly said I have to stop but when...... They say he almost didn't make it. I don't know what to do.

They have to keep him calm because his heart rate was around 200! No one ca visit because of this. His parents haven't left his side. His sister had to contact his school to withdraw him for the year. I should have seen the signs but I am so ignorant to the whole thing! His mood swings were crazy, he was pushing me away, he totally let himself go! His sister went to see him last night and she said he is improving but he will be in ICU for 1-2 weeks because he is still out of it. Then he will have lots of rehab. It is scary because I had no clue. I feel stupid. Well, I just wanted to say that your web site is great. I have learned a lot from it and to see the death list was real. I never thought you could die from "G". Thank you!
