COMMENTS:
Date rape drugs are not limited to pubs, clubs and parties. They are not limited to Teenagers. Drinks are not the only items that are spiked. Foodstuffs like dips are also. And, it can happen in your own home. One should be able to purchase from any pharmacy test kits that detect these substances. It can happen anywhere. In foodstuffs, and not just drinks. While you are sleeping.

NOTE (from Trinka Porrata): There are coasters and other test devices currently being marketed. It is important to note that these are NOT a solid answer to the problem. There are more than 36 drugs used in rapes, ranging from alcohol to GHB, roofies, animal tranquilizers, other prescriptions drugs, etc. There is NO test that will protect you from all of them. In fact, there is NO test that will protect you adequately from GHB. This drug has 'analogs' which are chemical cousins that have the same effects (some of them convert to GHB in the body, in fact). These tests do NOT identify the analogs. These products can give a very false sense of security. A coaster placed on TOP of your drink may be a wiser idea! You have to be very careful (realizing that even a bartender may be involved in dosing a drink), go out with friends only, don't accept drinks from others, throw away your drink if uncertain. Do be careful, and indeed, it can happen to anyone, anywhere.
