I had three mixed drinks at the bar (double crown and coke), after the third, (10-15 mins) lost all motor functions, became incoherent, had to be toted out of bar by long-term boyfriend, vomitted entire trip home, passed completely out and then woke up the next morning feeling great and had no recollection of events taking place after I finished my last drink. I am on medication prescribed by my shrink, Gabitril and Adderal, boyfriend asked if I needed to go the hospital when all this was taking place and I apparently told him I was fine but I don't remember that. I hold my liquor well and was not the least bit hung over the next day but I had complete lost of memory. I apparently let loose some inhibitions also and shared some things I never would have normally. I went to see the college nurse and she thought it was GHB but since 12 hours had passed since the incident (happend on Sat, went to see nurse on Mon afternoon) she didn't want to waste my time knowing that the drug wouldn't show up in test results due to the amount of time that had passed. I will no longer drink in public and I am thankful whatever was put in my drink didn't react with my other medication or I might not be here today. I feel like such a victim and wish I had knew the reality of the dangers associated with the possibilites of people slipping drugs into others drinks. I hope and pray that many people will find your website and become educated about the true consequences of the drug.

As I was a victim of GHB that was placed in my drink without my knowledge, I can completely understand your concern and worry. I was really lucky though. You see, I had tried GHB in a very small dose, just to see what it did. I was with a trusted friend and we are not ?drug taking? types.

Well, upon the first use of GHB, I became so sick that I began to vomit and my heart rate became very shallow and the room began to spin and grow dark. This is not a good thing for me because I already have low blood pressure. The effects wore off in about 4 hours, but I didn?t feel like myself for two days! My grandmother is an RN and when I told her about it she informed me that I may have had a slight allergic reaction to GHB because of the symptoms I described to her.

You may ask, ?why is she telling me this story?? The reason is thus. I was attending a birthday party for a co-worker along with other guests who worked with us and some that didn?t. I had a two beers before going to the party and had only had drank a partial beer at the party. When some guys offered some ?shooter,? I was happy to accept one from them. I drank the shooter and shortly thereafter began to feel ?messed? up, like I had drank a whole 12 pack by myself. I called one of my co-workers into the restroom where I was lying on the floor at this point. This is where I explained to her that I was feeling like I was as drunk as a skunk. Then I got to thinking, three beers and a shooter will NEVER get ME drunk. I?m one of those women who knows how to pace herself and never drives drunk and has NEVER ?passed out? like some people.

Then I began to put the pieces together. The only time that I had felt this way without being drunk was when I had taken GHB. By the time I had put the pieces together, I was vomiting and the room was spinning and I remember thinking, ?Damn, this room is getting darker and darker.? I had to force myself not to sleep. Then I realized that the guys who had done this had had no idea that I already knew what the affects of GHB are and that I was probably allergic to it.

I was furious! I informed the girl who?s party it was and her friend at who?s house the party was held that I believed that the guys who were making ?shooters? had slipped me GHB! They didn?t believe me. They thought I was nuts! But, even they couldn?t argue with me when I told them I had only 3 beers and then that shooter! Alcohol increases the affects of GHB tremendously!

This happened to me at a private birthday party with all my friends around! These guys were just friends of friends! You think you are safe! Think again! It can happen ANYWHERE! If it hadn?t been for the fact that I knew what my reaction(s) to GHB are, I would probably be dead right now! And the scariest part is that if I would have died, no one would have been able to tell that it was in my system!

Good for you putting the information out there!

Best of luck to all of you,

DG
