Viewer CommentsCity, State: Eau Claire,WI City, State: West Palm Beach City State: Indianapolis, IN My name is Eric Richards and I am the Risk Manager for a major college men's fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. I am a full-time employee of the Fraternity Headquarters located in Indianapolis, Indiana. As you know, GHB is a huge problem within the college community and Greek world alike. I would like to use some of the basic information that you have included in this site in the risk management publication that I put out and create called The Crossed Swords. I would reference you in the particular story that I am writing and will use the website in the "Thank You's" list that thanks all that contributed to the creation and editing of the publication. Your message needs to be heard and 8,500 would hear it more loudly by reading The Crossed Swords. I would appreciate your permission on this. Thank you! City, State: California My son was not a drug user he was anti-drugs. He was a hard worker. He would go to the bar with a couple guys from work to play pool and have a few beers. He was 25. Someone put GHB in his drink at the bar without his knowledge. The coroner told me that sometimes people do it as a joke. Some Joke. He went home to bed and never woke up. His blood alcohol level was just .06. He left behind his 23 yr old wife (widow), and 2 sisters, his father, and me, his heartbroken mother. City, State: clearwater/florida Help, this drug is destroying my friend's life. In just the last 3 weeks he has been "Baker acted" twice. Once because of wild behavior and the other was an attempted suicide with GHB and alcohol. Hospitals seem to only do urine drug testing and GHB won't show up. I did tell the nurses i was sure he was on G but he was never tested. Each time he was released from the hospital the following day. I need to know what the withdrawal symptoms are and how i can get him the help he needs (rehab hospital, etc.) I have told his primary care doctor and also his counselor but it seems there is not much they can do until my friend admits himself willingly. HELP ME! City, State: boaz, alabama thank god for parents who care enough to share during their grief. i dont have a similar incident but it could have been. my 17 daughter was getting into the rave scene doing ecstasy etc.. i inadvertently found out by accident and started educating myself. so many of her friends were failing or quitting school. i couldnt let this happen she is a senior with a full scholarship to college for her mind. i couldnt let her just ruin it all. i took drastic actions i guess, to her anyway. i threatened boot camp took away her car made her quit her job and i now drive her back and forth to school, but i have learned so much from the internet that i think i did the only thing i could to save her from self destruction. she isnt bitter anymore but she was very much so at first and slowly i'm releasing my hold on her trying to trust her but i know if she goes back to doing stupid teen things again she wont be uneducated. if i can only educate one parent who will help their child see whats going on i feel like i have done something- and u guys well u are doing a very great thing here i know it is therapy as well as education to yourself but i respect you for your efforts to educate others. i know these words will not ease your lose but maybe u will save someone elses child, that in itself is a great thing. i quit my job to stay home with my kids three girls so im not at liberty to help financially but any other way i will> City State: Atlanta, GA CommentsI too, thought GHB was rather harmless, until I took 4 capfuls before going to a bar. Within an hour I could hardly stand, and I was eventually carried out by two of my friends. I violently began throwing up while leaving and passed out for approximately 2 hours (so I was told). I highly recommend people avoid this drug, even in moderate doses it may pose some risk. Why take that chance? City State: Southern Pines/NC This internet sight has been very informative on information on GHB. I was a chronic user of GHB for almost three years, and in May of 2000 the withdrawl symptoms of this drug took my life, but my life was spared to bring this message to people that are using it, or are around people that use it. This poison will rob you of your spirit and your life in one way or another. That could be wrecking a car, overdose, or for me was the withdrawl of this horrible substance. If someone is trying to convine you that it is safe, legal, life extending , they are wrong. I used GHB all day to maintain and function, and if I was lucky I could take enough at night to sleep for four hours. Eventually your body will resist GHB and you will no longer feel the effects what so ever, and that is when you are in trouble. However you think you can come off of GHB whether it is reducing you dosage ,or weaning yourself off, or supplementing it with other substaces, they will not work. My story will benefit many people who have or know people that are in contact with GHB. My email address is ericsince73@yahoo.com for any other information that I can help with. By the grace of God I am able to carry this message to you. Even though I don't remember the two weeks I was on a ventilator or in intensive care at the hospital, life is much better with out it. I have not used in 9 months ,and your body will heal from GHB. If there is anything I can do to help people or provide any information to help anyone my email one more time is ericsince73@yahoo.com. CityState: BARRINGTON ILL I'VE WORKED WITH TRINKA AND I'VE TRIED TO HELP OTHERS ON THIS SITE.MY NAME IS BOB PRIMACK AND I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU HAVE TOUCHED.I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!!!IF I CAN DO ANYTHING TRINKA HAS MY PHONE NUMBERS.I'M CLEAN OVER 1 YEAR AND WILL NEVER GO BACK.I MIGHT BE DEAD IF IT WASNT FOR ALL THE SUPPORT.
