Thomas Szigethy is the Alcohol & Other Drug Prevention Coordinator for Eastern Connecticut State University.  He has worked 15 years in the field of child welfare, abuse and neglect in Ohio, Massachusetts and Connecticut and has worked extensively with families in crisis and afflicted by substance addictions.  He has investigated/treated child abuse/neglect issues brought on by substance abuse.  As a counselor, he specializes in adolescent addiction issues and for three years trained Connecticut Child Welfare employees and affiliates.  He is co-founder of “From the Frontlines” (FTF), a consulting & training group specializing in adolescent substance abuse that partners with professionals from education, social work, mental health, law enforcement and anyone invested in “making a difference for kids.”  He is an adjunct professor at St. Joseph College graduate counseling program and at Eastern Connecticut State University where he teaches “Alcohol and Other Drugs in American Schools and Colleges:  Impact upon health, wellness and performance.”    He will be partnering with Team Rhode Island and others in bringing about awareness, prevention and improved treatment for GHB and other substance abuse issues.
