Team Kentucky

Project GHB Team Kentucky is launching its education and awareness campaign to alert Kentuckians to the dangers of GHB to Kentucky’s citizens.

As a first step, Team Kentucky is soliciting funds to place Project GHB educational kits in Frankfort’s (Franklin County) three public high schools, targeting both students and parents. Kits will include brochure software, posters and all PowerPoint presentations, with multiple copies of “While You Were Sleeping” and the student PowerPoints. Initial training and support for school personnel also will be provided, as well as presentations to parent groups at each school. Our strategy is to grow this effort throughout the neighboring school districts, and to recruit project volunteers for initiatives in other cities throughout the Commonwealth.

Plans also include outreach to the Kentucky State Police, city and county law enforcement, area fire-rescue personnel, rape and domestic violence counselors, hospital ER personnel, and other first responders.

Dave serves on Project GHB’s national board of directors. He has 30+ years in state and local government experience in program planning, management, research, and grantwriting. In 1999, Dave’s daughter, Catherine, died suspiciously at her Florida home from a massive GHB overdose, only hours after delivering a letter to her attorney, claiming that she was being dosed and was in fear for her life. Although he was never charged criminally, her husband was found to have killed Catherine during estate litigation. While her death was ruled a suicide by local law enforcement, the local Medical Examiner ruled her cause of death as undetermined.

Gail is a professional freelance writer, editor and researcher who has worked extensively on Catherine’s case. She also provides writing and editorial assistance to Project GHB. She was formerly the education and publications director for an international non-profit association and executive director of its foundation. She is a certified trainer for sexual harassment, and domestic and workplace violence.
