Project GHB is a unique source of vital communication about the dangerous drug gamma hydroxy butyrate (GHB). Information is available here about GHB overdose; GHB-related deaths; drug-facilitated sexual assault involving GHB or other drugs; GHB addiction and withdrawal; GHB in DUI cases, and GHB as a medication (Xyrem). This site also includes information about other drug abuse issues, such as Ecstasy (MDMA) & Ketamine (Special K), and a special section on Prescription and Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs.
Project GHB is also a forum for rape, overdose & addiction victims & their families, to share their stories and forewarn others. Project GHB has been at the forefront of GHB issues and works with the top researchers, medical experts, prevention groups and legislative agencies and has now published the first and only book about GHB’s severe addiction potential and potentially fatal withdrawal syndrome.

“G’d Up 24/7: The GHB Addiction Guide” is a tribute to those we have been able to help as well as those we were unable to save, and represents a dedicated effort on our part to prevent further addictions and deaths from GHB addiction and withdrawal.

GHB Research in the Netherlands

The drug GHB (Gamma hydroxybutyrate) emerges during the mid-90s in the Dutch nightlife. At that time GHB was ‘advertised’ as a "relaxant energizer with erotic qualities" (Nabben, 2010). In small amounts GHB was found to provide a peaceful feeling and a sexually stimulating effect. At higher doses of GHB nausea and dizziness may occur, and can lead to a comatose sleep. Upon waking one often is very alert and sometimes aggressive.

WAKE UP, Cinderella

If you watched “White Collar” a few weeks ago, you may have heard their reference to “Goodnight Cinderella,” as a drug cocktail of GHB-ketamine-flunitrazepam (AKA roofies).

In Brazil, GHB is reportedly known as Goodnight Cinderella as it renders woman unconscious or in a walking blackout or at least otherwise vulnerable for sexual assault.  Actually there are more than 50 drugs that have been identified in drug-facilitated sexual assault cases.  It doesn’t need to be a cocktail of multiple drugs.  And, for purposes of this discussion, it really doesn’t matter which drug is used as the results are generally much the same.  A victim is assaulted and has limited ability to recall details or maybe even the identity of the suspect(s).

Invisible Victim-Secondary Crime-Who Will Help You Now ?

By Trinka Porrata

No one seems to know or care that they exist.  They are the victims of a crime who then become suspects in another crime, though without free will on their part.  Meanwhile the crime they suffered is erased, ridiculed, dismissed, ignored, or simply lost in the time lapse as evidence dissipates and/or because the drug used in the original crime isn’t something typically targeted even if any testing is done.

Devastation to the Drugging Victim

I am a 58-year-old career woman. Not a drinker not a party person and definitely not someone who frequents bars or night clubs, but I became a victim of date rape last summer. I believe I was raped by two men. It has been the most traumatic and horrible experience of my life.

FINALLY A GHB SCREENING TEST FOR URINE

FINALLY A GHB SCREENING TEST FOR URINE---ORDER FORM LINK

GHB has been a difficult drug to catch in testing due to rapid dissipation from blood
and urine in the human body.

This why it is so important for anyone who thinks they may have been drugged to get to a hospital or police station and be adamant about wanting to provide a urine sample immediately.

News about the new GHB urine test

The news that there is now a urine screening test for GHB is awesome.  We will soon have an order form for the tests through Express Diagnostics online. They are affordable and quite useful for ERs, sexual assault exam facilities, addiction treatment facilities, court ordered probation or parole drug testing, employee drug testing and coroners.  Standby for the change!

Addiction hides but it never sleeps!

My experience with GHB began about 10 years ago (when it was still legal). I was looking for a cutting-edge "legal high" and eventually found myself purchasing a book on GHB at a major book store chain, a book which was written by a doctor.
The book advocated GHB use as a nutritional supplement as well as for a variety of medical problems. It also provided detailed instructions for making the drug.
I located a scientific supply store that sold the precursor chemical and proceeded to start my experimenting- on myself.
